"You have stories worth telling, memories worth remembering, dreams worth working toward, a body worth feeding, a soul worth tending, and beyond that the God of the universe dwells within you, the true culmination of super and natural." -Shauna Neiquest
This is the Israel we remember.
Where our souls were tended.
Where Ancient meets Modern. Where teenagers are just as addicted to their phones as my college students. Where shepherds wear trendy leather jackets and skinny jeans while watching their sheep. Where espresso machines are plentiful (thank goodness). Where people are proud of their land and passionate about making much of what they've been given. Where "complex" just barely begins to describe political and religious tensions. Where thriving agricultural fields lay next to active mine fields. Where every door is beautiful.
Where interacting with Muslims, Jews, and Christians was an honor for me-- to feel my heart beat for every person I encountered, knowing at the end of the day we are all a crazy bit broken and searching for meaning, purpose, and hope.
